The 10% myth

We all know about the common claim that most people use only 10% of their brain. Here's a study that says that during a day a normal person would end up using 100% of the functions of the brain. Yet, it doesn't answer the spirit of the question, which wasn't whether we use 100% of the functions (regions) of the brain, but rather do we use our brains to the fullest.

It sill makes for an interesting read: SciAm 10%

What I have been wondering about is whether our brains have been undergoing evolutionary changes as the population have moved from agricultural labor to sitting at a desk all day typing away bits of information. Have our finger control systems become more nimble, and at the expense of what?
